| | | | | Ed Rousseau, age 70, announced that he will be running for not one, but two US national age group records in the 2010 Mad City 100K. He has his sights set on both the 100-kilometer and the 12-hour run marks. Known as "Fast Eddie" by all who know him, this Minneapolis ultra veteran is not just talk. Last November he broke the 12-hour run record for 70-74 year olds with a distance of 58.1 miles. The current 100K record for the age group is 11 hours, 51 minutes. "If I break the 100K record, that will be a 12-hour record also," Ed wrote, "and if I can somehow keep going...I can stretch it out a bit further." He advised race management, "Stop me at 12 hours." | | | | |
